Our Founder: Kevin Royce McArdle

The late Kevin Royce McArdle was born on the 28th of July, 1924, in the Balaklava Hospital. He was the fourth child of nine, to his parents Benedict and Edith McArdle.

Kevin met Melva Alice Harvey in the air force, and their love blossomed, marrying on the 10th of February 1944. Kevin and Melva had fourteen children - nine boys, and five girls.

Kevin Started the business in 1946 with one truck, but it was inevitable that Kevin was going to have to grow his transport business to accommodate all the sons he and Melva had. Not all of them decided that trucking was in their blood, and today it is currently managed by Craig (Wilbur), Richard and James (Bob).

Our Depot

Our main depot is based in the lower mid north region of SA approximately 15kms north of Mallala in the small country town of Long Plains.

Located in the heart of one of Australia’s largest grain belt districts, it is no surprise that Kevin McArdle began his business supplying local farmers with transport solutions for moving their grain and hay to the major ports in SA.

Core Business Areas

Since this time McArdle’s have diversified their company into 3 core business areas; general freight, bulk dangerous goods, and bulk haulage. All areas have the same high level of commitment to safety and customer service.
